Dr. Ryan Simmons DPT

Physical Therapy

Ryan has 15+ years of experience as a hands on practitioner. Her roots are in therapeutic massage, but her path has taken her much deeper into the therapeutic realms. She earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2010 and since then has had extensive additional training in integrative healthcare modalities including internal pelvic assessment and treatment, perinatal care, visceral mobilization, nutrition and gut healing, hormone health, yoga, meditation, somatic experiencing and trauma, breath work, sex, and indigenous healing practices. She’s been been shepherding people on the healing journey for a very long time.

Ryan is an empath who is described by others as a bold (viva el Toro), deeply loving, sometimes challenging, multidimensional, free spirit, who is strong in her convictions (8 on the Enneagram). Together, with her husband and 2 children, she travels between the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest and those of Nayarit, Mexico delivering high quality, holistic medicine. She cherishes the awe-inspiring natural beauty of these two disparate locations and feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude to be able to move between them, nurturing creative flow and fresh perspective in her practice.

Ryan’s Philosophy of Medicine

Ryan contends conventional medical model does not serve women. The shrugging off of women’s health issues as “hysteria” and baseless complaint has led to millions of women trying to manage chronic health conditions alone.

Ryan developed The Well Woman Way to offer women a responsible alternative to care, based on science, service, and trust in a woman’s ability to heal. The method offers support and guidance in the exploration of these vital areas:

Pelvic Health

Movement and Exercise

Nutrition and Gut Health

Hormone Balance

Stress Management

Sleep hygiene

Nature Exposure

Sexual Health

Emotional Health and Self-awareness
