Meet Dr. Kristina Olson-Kuyper, ND

(she/her)
Naturopathic Physician

Kristina is coming to Village Medicine after running a thriving solo practice, Sweet Pea Family Medicine, in West Seattle. At the heart of her practice philosophy is a genuine love of working with families.

Kristina earned my naturopathic medical degree from the National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2011 and completed over 1,200 hours of clinical training in primary care, pediatrics, and midwifery at Vibrant Family Medicine in Gresham, Oregon. After graduating, she joined their team of naturopathic midwives, where she deepened her skills as a full-spectrum family physician.  In 2013, Kristina completed a year-long residency in women’s health with Dr. Kimberly Suriano and Dr. Lara Williams, OBGYN, enhancing her expertise in women’s and hormonal health.

Kristina’s training has equipped her to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of health concerns from both conventional and natural perspectives. Her treatment plans often include herbal medicine, nutrition, pharmaceuticals when needed, and lifestyle counseling. Office visits with Kristina are collaborative and educational—enabling patients to feel informed, empowered, and confident in their care decisions.
In her free time Kristina enjoys volunteering, backpacking and hanging with her two boys at Alki beach.

Kristina’s Philosophy of Medicine

Supporting individuals at every stage of life—from infancy through adulthood—is at the heart of my practice. Kristina offers personalized, holistic care that blends natural and conventional therapies to meet the unique needs of each family member. Whether providing preventive care or managing chronic conditions, she works closely with patients to educate, empower, and guide them toward lasting wellness. Her approach is rooted in compassionate listening, collaboration, and a deep respect for each person’s health journey.

Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or night? Why?
I’m a twilight person. There’s a spell in that magic hour when the sky glows with gold, rose, and violet. The world hushes, shadows stretch like dreams, and everything feels touched by something ancient and enchanted. It’s a time when the ordinary shimmers, and the veil between what is and what could be feels thin. It is a moment that doesn’t belong entirely to day or night, but to something more magical in between.
If you were to geek out on something, what would you geek out on?
I’m not always sure where to begin when describing myself. For the past decade, my primary focus has been motherhood, and much of my time and energy has gone into raising my children. As they grow more independent, I’ve been rediscovering parts of myself that were quietly waiting in the wings—especially my love of learning and diving deep into new interests.
Lately, I’ve been in a season of exploration. I took horseback riding lessons (and loved every minute), got really into baking bread, and now I’m eyeing furniture refinishing as my next adventure. I’ve always been a curious person, and now that I have more space to follow that curiosity, I’m enjoying the freedom to geek out on all kinds of things.
What superhero do you most resonate with and why?
While she’s not a traditional superhero, the character I’ve always resonated with most is Pippi Longstocking. As a child, I was drawn to her strength, independence, and the way she moved through the world with confidence and compassion. She stood up for others, lived by her own values, and had a deep generosity of spirit—even if it sometimes showed up in unconventional ways.
Now, as an adult, I still admire those qualities. Pippi reminds me to stay curious, to trust myself, and to make space for both courage and kindness. I may not be lifting horses or outwitting pirates, but I try to carry a bit of that same energy into how I move through life and the choices I make.
