Care Coordinator

I found Village as a patient of Dr. Shelby’s. At the time, I was struggling with gut imbalances, a new autoimmune condition, and feeling lost and dis-heartened by the experiences I had in health care throughout my healing process so far. When I connected with Village, I knew I had discovered something very different – a heart-centered practice. A few years later, I feel grateful to now find myself on the other side of the desk, helping to facilitate this unique level of care for others. Within Village, you can find me coordinating group classes, supporting patient care coordination, and helping to coordinate a variety of administrative projects.

Beyond my role here, my life includes creating art of all kinds (singing, songwriting, dancing, poetry, drawing, painting – the list goes on!), connecting with nature on many levels such as hiking, meditating, bird watching, camping, and foraging, as well as growing my own leadership and community building skills through the lenses of mindfulness and decolonization work. I am also in my third year of study with the Sundust Oracle Institute.

Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or night? Why?
Like the sunrise… I am reliable and can be very comforting.

If you could choose your age forever, what age would you choose and why?
Can’t say for sure yet because I haven’t experienced all the years to come! I really hope to I make it all the way to age 100!

Which is your favorite way to dance? With others or alone?
With others!

What superhero do you most resonate with and why?
I haven’t read any comic books so my knowledge of superheroes is almost entirely from movies… I love Wonder Woman! She’s impressive; I totally resonate more with her than Batman or Spiderman… I hope to see a lot more superhero movies starring powerful, compassionate women!

If you were a vegetable, which one would you be and why?
I was having a hard time coming up with an answer to this question on my own, so I took this adorable quiz:

What-Is-Your-Spirit-Vegetable?

Fennel is my spirit vegetable! There’s a lot to love behind the many layers that make up a unique, subtly-sweet bulb of fennel. It takes some time to peel back those layers, but once this introverted veggie has time to open up, you’ll find fennel is grounded, driven, and has a heart brimming with passion. Fennel thrives in the cooler weather during spring and fall, and you’ll often find it soaking up the crisp air on long, meandering strolls outside. You don’t come across fennel every day, which makes this quietly confident vegetable all the more mysterious and memorable.
